Outfit Vodka

Outlaw is a series of packages that I designed for vodka. The prohibition era started in the 1920s in the United States. The illegal manufacturing and sale of liquor (bootlegging) went on throughout the decade, along with the operation of “speakeasies”(nightclubs selling alcohol).

I choose the name “outlaw” not only because it is a nickname of the gangster syndicate and I would like to recall the extravagant and breathtaking lifestyle of the gangsters who lived in the prohibition era.Vodka is also flammable thus I decide to combine the concept of the molotov cocktail and the gangster concept because the gangsters also use a lot of these cocktail bombs during the conflicts.

For the exterior package, I choose a simple wooden box to mimic the container that gangsters used to smuggle liquors. I applied the technique of block printing to stamp the text “SAY HELLO TO MY LITTLE FRIEND”. This quote is from the movie “Scarface” and also fits the cynical theme of my design.
